What makes the Costa Blanca an ideal holiday destination? In the province of Valencia who’s history dates back over three thousand years, Alicante is the second largest town /city providing the major air route to Britain and other parts of Europe. The airport sits approx 18 km south of Alicante and the whole of the coastal region (north and south) is within a 100km drive. At the northern end of the Costa Blanca, a tourist region par excellence , lie the outstandingly beautiful valleys of Orba and Jalon. Their luxuriant vegetation which embodies a centuries-old agricultural tradition, offers a unique opportunity for the visitor to indulge in the peace and tranquility of small white-walled villages nestling amongst fields of olive trees, vineyards, almonds and orange groves.

The Jalon Valley has been popularised by painters and writers for many years, with its small villages such as Lliber and Alcalali with their very distinctive indigenous architecture, preserved and cared for, appealing greatly to those who wish to soak up the essence of the true Mediterranean villages. Jalon is internationally renowned for the production of excellent wines tended in the valley’s extensive vineyards. Numerous wine cellars (Bodedas) that produce and market wine serve as an almost compulsory stopping–off point for the visitor and tourist alike.
